I don't see that this has been posted before on here, but I've found it to be a useful tool in my little area. It's a Google Map of businesses and such that are or are not using masks.

(17,623 posts)..that I have frequented in the past, as NO MASK. wtf? Well wont be going there any time soon.
How can we add a place? I went to the Buzz Inn for breakfast ( a big gamble as locals hang out there... but was worth it) There was a 'mask up' sign on the front with another sign saying 'PLEASE DONT YELL AT ME'. Great way to chat with the masked waitress who said she gets yelled at all the time...and shes with me..she thinks masks are going to be necessary for at least another year. I feel good going in there altho she sat someone in the booth behind us.
Our area is in Phase 3 and the numbers are steady or declining and we were fully vaxxed in Feb so we are feeling OK about supporting some locals businesses.
how to add a new business...they do have a contact page with an email address. I'd like to know too actually.

I'm in an area that has a lot of Trumpers and faux-hippies/new agers who took a hard right and went down the Q path, so it can be tricky with the locals here too. Monday was my two week anniversary of my second dose, so getting a bit more adventurous myself...if still prudent and cautious about it.

(589 posts)"Hi John! Thanks for reaching out 👍
The Mask Map uses Google Maps for the data. If a business does not appear, that business needs to register with Google first (www.google.com/business) and it will then be seen on The Mask Map (and Google Maps).
Hope that helps!

So nice to get an actual (and useful) response from an entity...that's becoming a rarity.
Not sure if one can register a business without actually BEING that business. I'd think not, as it applies to more than just the maps.
