Federal prosecutors revealed in a new court filing that they expect over 100 more people will be criminally charged for the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump seeking to overturn the 2020 election results.
The filing was made in the case of Michael Joseph Rusyn, who was arrested after live-streaming the Capitol attack. In the filing, the Department of Justice requested an additional sixty day delay under the Speedy Trial Act.
To justify the delay, the DOJ explained the complexity of the case.

(32,659 posts)It seems they're only going after the insurgents who actually set foot inside the Capitol building. Does it look that way? Also they've already got those guys who were beating up the cops outside, they've mostly been named and arrested.
But heck there were thousands of people milling around outside and they were taking selfies too. Theoretically the feds can ID them but they aren't bothering with them. It's the ones who came inside, broke doors and windows, threatened the legislators, did the damage, one or two even took a shit on the carpet. Oh my god, they're all gonna be charged.
