"Goodbye, Ronald Reagan."

Once again, it’s Biden on the front of ‘Le Monde.’ The big headline with a photo from last night’s speech before Congress is “Joe Biden takes on the fight against inequality.” In the column to the right of the photo “Taxation of the richest makes its way across the world” with sidebars about the current proposals in France and Germany where both are looking at upcoming national elections.

In the editorial, “President of the workers,” it says that under Biden’s proposals, ““The rich and the corporations will pay more taxes. Goodbye, Ronald Reagan. www.lemonde.fr/...

Le démocrate Joe Biden avait promis aux travailleurs américains de « rebâtir l’Amérique, en mieux ». Tournant le dos à l’orthodoxie des indices chiffrés, poussé par sa gauche, il garde ce cap, celui de la réhabilitation des classes moyennes et populaires. C’est leur déclassement et leur colère qui ont dépouillé Barack Obama de sa majorité au Congrès, puis porté Donald Trump à la Maison Blanche. Plus jamais ça.
