Watching Carly Fiorina earlier today, discussing how Ted Cruz sold his soul, was SURREAL.

I worked at Hewlett Packard as a contractor for a few months while Fiorina was at the helm.

The mood, on any given day, was sour. There were "good people" there who did their best to keep their spirits up (and the people I had to interact with were all polite and professional with me), but I was in a sea of people who were clearly unhappy, and a lot of fingers pointed straight back to Fiorina's office.

This morning, she spoke in calm and measured tones about how the thirst to acquire and hold on to power can destroy a person, because sometimes, they become blind to everything else.

I don't think there was ever a "good" Ted Cruz who went "bad"...if there was, I missed him.

But Fiorina almost seemed genuinely saddened and hurt by Cruz's descent into full-blown Trump toadie.

It was one of those things I could understand on an intellectual level, but not an emotional one, because she and I never saw the same Ted Cruz.

... maybe she and he had a personal friendship... because, you're right, I never saw a "good" Ted Cruz, either.

If he did have a soul, it was so black that Satan took it and put it at the center of a large galaxy.

but Ted did have the pedigree the smarts and the edu background .. that allowed some to think he was some version of a 'golden boy.'

But as I understand it, his character and personality have always been know as -- purely loathsome.

Then it was time to take her talents into Republican politics.
