Biden Uses Jobs Report To Masterfully Turn The Tables On Republicans

https://www.politicususa.com/2021/05/07/biden-reacts-to-jobs-report.html

"SNIP.....

President Biden used the new jobs report to knock down Republican criticisms of his economic plan.

President Biden said:

Today’s report puts truth to loose talk we have been hearing about the economy lately. First, that we should stop helping workers and families out for fear of overheating the economy. This report reinforces the real truth. For years working people and middle-class people, people who built this country, have been left out in the cold, struggling to keep their heads above water while those at the top have done well. We are still digging out of an economic collapse that cost us 22 million jobs. Let me say that again. Cost us 22 million jobs.

When we came in, we inherited a year of profound economic crisis mismanagement on the virus. What we propose is going to work. We are going to get to 70%. But it’s going to take focus, commitment, and time to get the economy moving again, as we want it to move. We have got work to do. To state the obvious, we have work to do. Look, let’s keep our eye on the ball. That’s why the American rescue plan is so important. I said we build it as a year-long effort to rescue our country. It’s already working.

The President’s comments were a smart strategy. Biden is using the jobs report as evidence that more needs to be done. He is right. The economy had slipped into a recession before the pandemic. It is going to take more than a couple of months to bring everything back.

funding more jobs? I didn't read the article. I just saw a headline that seemed to suggest that position. I thought to myself, we need to shame the Chamber of Commerce, and declare it a tainted entity.

Bottom line: President Biden is spot on. Any entity, organization against it, is Anti-American, imo.

This one?

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce on Friday blamed a $300-per-week federal jobless benefit for enticing Americans to stay at home and April's far-weaker-than-expected jobs report.

A Chamber spokesperson confirmed to CNBC that it will be using similar messaging to start lobbying White House and Capitol Hill to end the payout.

can't be exaggerated. Someone ought to clue US Chamber of Commerce in.

Maybe support higher min wages so that it's worth more to accept min paid job offers..

the tipped wage service industry has been losing workers who want something better. I know several who have spent the last year training online to learn whatever they can to apply for something more stable with better benefits.

Painting him as old sleepy Joe who's senile was the dumbest thing the Reps ever did. He's sharp as a tack and hammers them every chance he gets.

I have said this before and will continue to say it. Joe was not my first choice for the Presidency. When he was nominated though, as he campaigned and there were some who thought, "We just handed the Trump the victory" I thought that Biden would be okay. Biden was a fundamentally opposite character to Trump. Bernie is a firebrand. I like his energy and message, but he is bombastic and could rub people the wrong way. Biden is a fundamentally decent person. It just oozes out of him and not in an unctuous and fake way. He cares about people to the point that he is willing to fight for them. That is the exact opposite of Trump. Trump wants people to fight for him. Trump wants people to sing his praises, and Biden wants to sing people's praises. He really believes (some might have said naively) in the goodness of the American ideal and people. Trump couldn't give a shit about the American Ideal or the people.

Biden has a history of gaffes and some less than great takes over his 40 plus year career, but then who doesn't, and knowing that he has had a stutter problem his whole life, puts that into context.

The thing about Biden is that as much as you can say this of any politician who runs for President, he has a solid ego. He isn't there for all the glory. He isn't there for his self image. He is there to help. Biden is the type of guy who doesn't have to come up with the best idea and he isn't one to try to take credit for everything. He is willing to pick a good team, actually listen to them, and do the best thing, giving credit to those whose idea it was. Again, the exact opposite of Trump. Much as I would have liked a woman or person of color as President, I think that we needed Joe to show what a difference character, integrity, honesty, and honor make in a leader.

Republicans can't seem to hit Joe cleanly with anything they throw at him and that must be pissing them off and scaring them. Bonus in my opinion.

These words of President BIDEN say it all and are right on point. Mismanagement.

You could perhaps enhance the verbiage by stating what management?

The big dip (crater?) in employment and the overall economy, if not expected, sure should have been. And no one questioned why things were slipping so badly. But that "grace period" will be behind us soon, and scrutiny and accountability will be at a near all-time high...if there was a way to quantify that.
