(19,201 posts)Without it, there's no reason for people to watch them. The "other guy's" administration was a ratings gold mine for them. President Biden just goes about his business, doing the things Americans want DONE, with a minimum of controversy. The media hates that. Americans are paying attention to other things, like getting their lives back together after a pandemic and four years of the WORST president in history.
So screw the media. 😁

(11,564 posts)is going to be filled somehow. And that "how" is often more lies, more bloviating, more character assassination with ZERO basis. You know what would drive the RWNJs out of their minds? If President Biden revived the Fireside Chats. The job he's doing is very reminiscent of FDR.

(6,833 posts)US media is a go-for-blood or sleep business. No middle ground. Didn't improve with 24/7 coverage either.
Oops, I forget. How many here can recall when the TeeVee went silent after a certain hour and didn't wake up until hours later, maybe 5:00 am or so? from test pattern to shining test pattern. Being a country boy, my first experience of 24 hour cable stations was in 1975 imbibing in the sophisticated wilderness of Corning, NY. After suffering 23 glorious (in retrospect) years of sleeping at night. Still I do recall waking early and watching the test pattern until the farm report came on. I was a child who didn't know soybean futures from vacuum tubes but I was glued to that tube. The pioneering baby boomer! From pork bellies to Ernie Kovacs, we had it all.

(11,564 posts)My first memory with displeasure at that night-time test pattern was when I was about 3. I don't know where we had been, but I had been sleeping before we drove home. I was already feeling a little scratchy and slightly ill-humoured, and hectored them into turning on the TV to prove to me that there was nothing to watch.

Thanks for the tweet though, but I'll look for other sources.

(6,890 posts)but least on actual sites one has a chance of not seeing the horrendous ads if your own browsing history (and history of clicking on ads) os clean enough. Not so in newsletters. The Hill's newsletters and email updates make my hair stand on end.

(694 posts)trying to limit voting? They don't like POC, liberals, or women. They don't want them to vote. Are we supposed to help them prevent democracy as a bipartisan approach? Anybody can see this is wrong, including journalists.
