New York Post: The Post says Eric Adams should be NYC's next mayor

New York City stands at the crossroads. Will we continue to surrender our streets to homelessness, filth, crime and guns, to betray our children’s future, to push away residents, businesses and wealth?

With the end of the disastrous Bill de Blasio era, the challenge will fall to our next mayor.

Eric Adams gets Louima’s nod for mayor, calls for NYPD reform, protester respect for badge
The New York Post believes Eric Adams is the candidate with the best chance of solving the issues bedeviling our whole city.

His top priority has to be reversing the rocketing rise in crime, from shootings to subway safety.

We definitely do not need a former cop as mayor in any city in America..... walkingman May 2021 #1

Former Orlando police chief, congresswoman Val Demings weighing run for governor, she says

PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Val Demings, the African American congresswoman from Orlando, says she’s still in the process of making a decision to run for Governor of Florida in 2022. If she moves forward, the three-term representative would face off against Republican Governor Ron DeSantis.

The former Orlando police chief says she has a few options in the upcoming political arena.

“Many have asked me to run for governor. Many have asked me to run for the Senate. I’m still in the process of making the decision. I know I need to make this decision, but I’m going to make it with all of the information that I need so I can better serve the people of Florida,” Demings said.

The congresswoman got some national notoriety and praise last year for the job she did as one of the House Managers in the Donald J. Trump impeachment. If she runs for governor or for senate and wins, Demings would be the first woman and African-American ever elected to statewide office in Florida.

a Mayor would have much more of an impact in decisions pertaining to direct police issues than a Gov.

I just have a distrust of law enforcement, I guess. I know there are a lot of good cops but the only time I ever hear about "cops" is usually bad. I have not had much experience with "cops" since my youth which was in the late 60's and early 70's. I haven't trusted them since - they hassled a lot of people in those days for long hair and not conforming to the establishment.
