We have states: Montana, South Carolina, who are turning down Federal dollars for unemployment.
The latest from the right -wing is that the Unemployment Benefits are too generous, and people dont want to work.
I call bullshyt on that. People have had time to think, and they arent willing to work jobs for shyt wages and no benefits. Folks also forget to add that people dont want to work jobs that have UNSAFE WORKING CONDITIONS. Now, what about the accusation of there not being workers applying for these shyt jobs. That might very well be true. After all, I will remind these same folks that they were the -OPEN THE ECONOMY NOW IN THE MIDDLE OF A PANDEMIC -people. The official COVID DEATH TOLL is now approaching 600,000. There was a study released last week that said that number was too low. That the real number could possibly reach 900,000!

And, then, what about the people who didnt die from COVID, but that life altering physical conditions because of COVID, and are now among the disabled?
There are MILLIONS in this category. We have just begun to study them.
Then, there are those who were like, well a majority of those were Senior Citizens.
Well, guess what a lot of those Elders did? What they provided?
Low-cost to free childcare for their families.

(9,952 posts)where an handful of times men my age were threatening. I am trying to appease as hard and fast as I could and boom.... they went to threatening. I am standing, backing away ready to call 911 and planning my escape. That is wrong. An old lady, 11.25 an hour and I told her no, I just do not think I have to work that for a pay that does not cover my monthly expenses. and I am living poor. Nice hotel, nice area, and angry people.
Another job as a cashier and cause good, I had the worst hours, not able to drink liquid and physically hard on body. No. Lol. That was 10.25.
I might have to settle for that later, but not now.
I had YMCA call and I would really enjoy that but part time. I told here I would need 15 an hour (I am emboldened) and need guaranteed full time.
So ya, I see it differently. I also think there could be a more creative way for this old person to earn a living and maybe more from home. I can take my time looking.

(63,221 posts)People are waking up and they are starting to realize that they no longer have to put up with this shit. They are starting to get a sense of their own power and what they can do when they begin to resist en masse.
It's time to make big business and the powers that be feel insecure for once and realize that they can no longer get away with treating employees like crap and paying them povery wages.
I really hope this awareness catches fire. Enough is enough, and people have put up with being abused by unrestrained capitalism for too long.
