(32,739 posts)Jane Mayer is a brilliant writer by the way. She stumbled into a forgotten archive of an ultra-conservative pal of the Koch Brothers. The documents she discovered led her to investigate the evil ways in which the Koch brothers have juiced the American political system for the last 40 years. "Dark Money" is quite a story, and it solidified Jane Mayer's reputation as an award-winning investigative and political journalist.
I'm looking forward to this new book, and I'm sure it will be great.

I'm also really looking forward to the rest.
People too young to remember him on TV might be surprised to realize this horrible person came across as charming and fun. He's the first I personally remember bringing his guitar to a political audience to win them over, and here Bush, and my flawed memory suggests that later inspired Bill Clinton's musical performances. Atwater and BB King were reportedly buds.
