If only something would come from these hearings...

Miller will testify at a hearing by the House Oversight Committee entitled "The Capitol Insurrection: Unexplained Delays and Unanswered Questions." The committee has said that it wants to examine the Executive Branch and District agencies' preparations for and responses to the insurrection.
In early March, Miller said that the insurrection occurred because of Trump's "Stop the Steal" rally and speech held beforehand. At the rally, Trump continued to baselessly claim that an unprecedented nationwide "criminal enterprise" of voter fraud "stole" the presidential election from him.

(8,329 posts)This is not NCIS or Matolck for the older crowd. Its not done in a one hour episode. This is part of building an evidence based foundation. You do that be getting people on record under oath. Some in public and some in private via the grand jury process. They you compare stories and bring charges. The former guy may never be charged in this and that sucks, we have heard Michael Cohen say he operates as a mob boss, but take enough of the people down around him off their participation in the insurrection and you neuter him.
There are other more direct shitty things he was involved in. Hopefully once people see the emperor has no clothes, they will shine the light on those.

(42,770 posts)how the NG or other support for Capitol Police would have been figured out. In fact I remember thinking oh my god we have to wait for Honore's group to be finished? Admit I haven't kept up with it but I would bet my last dollar that with a wink and a nod Trump told them all to slow down with support.

Miller will be painting a picture the reQublicans don't want to see, making the public aware of things we didn't
know. Wheels of justice turn slowly, but they're always turning.

His work essentially destroyed to mob families.
Putting Brasco's name with T***p insults a law enforcement hero & legend.

(65,013 posts)He was a mob infiltrator. He pretended to be a jewel thief & got really close to several top ranking mobsters.
It was the mob he betrayed! That was his job!
He did get sent off, with lifetime pay, in the Witness Protection System. He has not been an active agent for a long time.
FBI guy or not, the mob wants him dead. He needed WPS!
He got so inside, they gave him a contract to get made. That's when the higher ups pulled the plug on the project. Was getting too dangerous. As if being a cop inside the mob for a year wasn't dangerous enough.
He basically turned the Bonanno family into a minor street gang & did major damage to the Columbo family.
They really don't like him.

(58,785 posts)within short periods -- exactly when directors know we need it for satisfaction. I don't know how you can assume nothing comes from hearings, but do at least remember that the Biden administration was only sworn in at the end of January and key officials are still awaiting senate confirmation and Trump officials still being chiseled out. Merrick Garland's been there long enough to find the offices of his staff, but only some of them have been filled. Good news -- his second in command, who'll be in charge of day-to-day operations, is now there, almost 3 months late, but at work!
Be patient. This is never fast.

trump has to be the worst human being the World has known in many years, he does not deserve to end his days in Mar-A-Lago or anywhere else, he deserves to be in jail, with Giuliani and all the other bad actors.

(70,501 posts).... Miller sent a stand order to the D.C. National Guard. He was in on the attempted coup. Miller knew that "the shit" was
coming. "To employ any riot control agents." How did he know that there was going to be a riot?
This memorandum responds directly to your January 4, 2021 memorandum regarding the District of Columbia request for District of Columbia National Guard (DCNG) support in response to planned demonstrations from January 5-6, 2021. You are authorized to approve the requested support, subject to my guidance below and subject to consultation with the Attorney General, as required by Executive Order 11485.
Without my subsequent, personal authorization, the DCNG is not authorized the following:
* To be issued weapons, ammunition, bayonets, batons, riot control agents or ballistic protection equipment such as helmets and body armor.
* To employ any riot control agents.
* To interact physically with protesters, except when necessary in self-defense or defense of others.
* Prohibited from sharing equipment with law enforcement agencies or seeking support from any non-DC National Guard units.
* Forbidden from conducting searches, seizures, arrests, or other similar direct law enforcement activity.
* Forbidden from using Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance assets or to conduct Incident, Awareness and Assessment activities.
* No helicopters or any other air assets.

(70,501 posts)... after Trump lost the election. Trump and company started planning the riot/coup right after he
lost the election. I think he wanted enough violence and bloodshed that he could declare martial
law and stop Joe Biden from becoming President and that was because Trump was scared shitless
of his upcoming legal and civil penalties.

(21,330 posts)Trump:
Gave out the day, the date, the time, and the place for the violent attempted coup on
numerous invitations. Including one in which he said something like, "Jan. 6th be here
and go wild."
Helped paid for "it" using Trump campaign funds.
Had the niece of his chief of staff file the paperwork for the permit for his pre-riot pep rally.
Decapitated the D.C. National Guard so they could not help in responding to what he knew
was going to massive violence.
Refused to send help or call off his attackers after phone calls from Rep. McCarthy and V.P. Pence.
Told the violent insurrectionist criminals who had invaded and damaged the Nation's Capitol that
"he loved 'em."
Lock his ass up.

(16,926 posts)It is SO obvious - and easy to follow and explain.........
So why isn't he already in jail?
Botany
(70,501 posts)I don't know but if he is charged with a federal crime he might have already written a pardon
that covered himself. I don't know if D.C. crimes are like state crimes and not covered by a
Presidential pardon for the 1/6/21 riot/coup. Trump I think is on the line for millions in civil
penalties for the attack on the US Capitol.
BTW if you like the summary feel free to use it and pass it on because the one weapon that the
right still has and uses very effectively is disinformation.

(88 posts)Perhaps a bit O/T but...
Never gotten a clear answer from the conservatives on this question. If the Democrats had the willingness and the ability to commit voter fraud on such a massive scale as to defeat Trump, why wouldn't they go ahead and "fix" a few Senate races at the same time? They could have fixed three or four close races in the Dem's favor and Mitch would have been left standing there with his face hanging out when the Articles of Impeachment were sent to the Senate for the second time. Heck. If the Dems could "fix" elections, they could have sent ol' Mitch home in defeat and Amy McGrath would have taken his seat. After all, ol' Mitch is thoroughly disliked in KY, so his loss to her would not have been all that surprising.
