Jeff Merkley (D-OR) taking Ted Cruz down in "For the People Act" Senate voting rights deliberations

He's been really good today.

Ted Snooz was trying to add an unnecessary amendment implying that millions of "illegals" would be registered to vote if this bill is passed.

Democrats called him out on it, asking him to provide proof if he knows of it, of "illegals" registering. Merkley directly calls him out for promoting a lie.

We need more of this.

All of the Republican proposed amendments are promoting lies disguised as amendments. They need to be called out as such.

Jeff Merkley is excellent. He's not afraid to call out BS - something Teddy spouts by the gallon.

So glad we have him representing us at that level. We are fortunate.

how much I appreciate them, and that I appreciate their stand on something. I never call to say I disagree, because I don't, but tHeir staff has told me that calling to say you support them is a good thing to do because it's a numbers game and they need to know constituents are with them. And of course, everyone likes to know when they are appreciated. Especially if they are in it for the public service and not the power and glory. THey both work SO hard for us.

is the annual Town Hall each holds in every county in the state.

As a transplanted Californian (who moved here more than a decade ago), it was an unnatural experience to be able to walk up and talk to a Senator despite not carrying a small slip of paper containing the words "Pay to the Order of ..."

that county can ask questions. I've gone to a bunch of them. Do you get his emails? They announce them.

I always admire and find interesting the way he deals with questions. once there was someone using FOX talking points and he handled it masterfully. A few people booed the questioner and Ron said everyone will be treated with respect at my town halls. He doesn't beat around the bush on things he disagrees with but always handles it in such a way that the questioner feels respected.
