It's shame that Trump let our infrastructure diminish that one shutdown kills an entire region.
That is just criminal behavior of Trump.
Perhaps our new infrastructure bill we can get a few more pipelines built.
We have ZERO gas (central NC) where I am and we just shutdown our mobile business.

Building more highways, pipelines, drilling for more petroleum, it's all just pouring good money after bad.
By all means invest in existing transportation infrastructure, but anything built from scratch has to steer us away from our dead-end reliance on fossil fuels.

Which is why it's important to start building better infrastructure now.
If Jimmy Carter had been re-elected forty years ago we might be there by now.

(32,078 posts)Instead of another damn pipeline, how about a high-speed rail line? Or, a network of charging stations for electric vehicles? We don't need anymore stinking pipelines. We need to set up the means to get rid of the ones we already have. Enough, already!

Im in the Cyber security business. This hack will likely lead to a a good year for this business.
Corporations rarely believe just how massively expensive it is to recover...until it happens to them.
But imagine if an enemy bombed even one pipeline? We wouldn't be back online in a week.

Maybe pay everyone $5k per gasoline car?
