Call me a coward, wimp, etc. I just cannot watch it live!
I hang out here looking at comments!
Did the same in 2008!
Weird I know, so no insult will be countered or alerted!

(14,628 posts)but I know I will. But I absolutely refuse to watch the pundits afterwards. I don't need anyone telling me how the President performed . . . I can decide for myself and I'm tired of their spin!

(21,761 posts)I had a party for and enjoyed watching VP Biden stomp the crap out of that lying POS but it was for amusement purposes only as far as I'm concerned. Debates, in my mind, are for those who are undecided and I suspect that there are very few of those this election.

(20,277 posts)I would rather see it for myself, rather than through somebody else's filter.

(1,693 posts)I'm the same. Haven't watched a debate since 2004. I just hang out here and see what people are saying. Needless to say, that was not fun with the last debate. I'm hoping to see more positive posts this time around.

(3,709 posts)My plan is to have it on but muted and be on the phone with a very close friend while we watch (I'm in KY, he's in FL). I will un-mute the President but mute Romney and attempt to read his answers...can't listen to him.
So...you are not the lone wimp.....

(20,043 posts)but I can't not watch.
When dealing with a live audience asking question anything can happen. Shit, that didn't help my nerves.
Wine tonight.

(6,262 posts)But will be following comments on DU while I watch baseball. Will have on DVR if I decide to watch later, based on DU reaction. I just get too agitated for my own good.

(3,252 posts)But I might sneak a peak.

(26 posts)I will probably watch comments on-line...and if things seem to be going well, will probably turn it on. I am definitely recording it though. I'm such a wimp
I already voted, so as one poster said, this really is for the undecided, which should be a teeny fraction of the voters.

(113 posts)Way, way too nervous!

(5,937 posts)Same thing I do watching football when my team is in a precarious position. I always have the retreat channel on "last" for a fast escape from any impending beat downs. Though I expect Obama to do really well, I think it won't be as easy as who won, not in a town hall.

(50,414 posts)I've watched most of them since 1960 and have grown bored with them. I look at them now as just glorified commercials between two brands trying to make a sale.

(14,920 posts)Jamey Johnson's launch of his new Hank Cochran tribute album. I have a feeling he will be joined by some of his awesome duet partners from the album. No stress here! I am sure my president will do just fine without me this time, and I will.watch the re-runs when I get home

(10,624 posts)This is a game to most people. I see all the smug conservatives around me. It's like watching children play with dynamite. They don't realize how dangerous this is, or how many people could get hurt. It's just a game to them. Go white people! Yay!

(552 posts)The polls are so close in the most vital swing states, this debate could determine who wins.

(23,500 posts)It is only the media spin that matters, we have already seen that demonstrated with the debates so far.

(33,610 posts)I'll watch tonight, but if I start seeing a repeat performance by Obama, I will turn away.
