To give the President prior-credit, he has a hard needle to thread tonight

It is pretty obvious to all of us that the President has a double task ahead of himself tonight. First he has to lift the shadow of his lack-luster performance in the last debate and second he has to clearly make the point that with Democrats in control you get adults in control; authentic fact-loving, responsible adults. He is facing a man who will say anything, and in fact has said many contradictory things and things that can not be true in a world of simple arithmetic.

The President's problem is how to approach Romney. Biden gave us one approach, and it was the perfect response to what the Republicans had put in front of him, but this is the President and he can not guffaw and laugh at his opponent. Decorum will not allow it and at all costs he must continue to look "Presidential" I do not envy him his task, it is a difficult one. But I voted for him to stand up and do difficult work, he promised me he would, and tonight I expect him to produce. I have seen him stand up to these bullies before and I expect to see him do it again in just a couple of hours. And loath as my atheistic gray old butt is to say it I mummer a little prayer under my breath that he succeeds.

In fact after the debacle from two weeks ago I'd say his situation is pretty good. If he calls Willard out on a few of his lies, and acts and speaks like he understands and believes in the Dem ideals & platform, he will win back much of the loss from the first debate.
