5. I think it's an astroturfing

1) you could stop all non US citizens working by arresting the business owners who pay them. They are here because we want and demand cheap labor.
2) start a guest workers program like we had in the US in WWII, get it on the books and tax away.
3) boarder is meaningful and needs to be minded. Put 1 & 2 in place and it will stop.
4) the “other” is valuable to the republicans to feed their hate machine, so it’s a racket from top to bottom

9. Agree with part 1.

As my part 2 I would say that the United States needs to stop messing around in the affairs of our Southern neighbors too. We help fuck up their countries and create the situations that lead people to need to leave their homes. The US has been involved in almost every coup, counter revolution, and our demand for illegal drugs also helped to create wealthy and powerful drug cartels. Then we get upset that desperate people try to get into the country for a chance at a better life.

There was undocumented immigration even when the Bracero programs were running and guest worker programs were going. Labor isn't the only thing that drives immigration.

13. I've heard R wingers and BP agents brag about "going hunting" along the border.

They also leave behind poisioned water. When feds find dead bodies in the desert it's easy to say, "oh it was just dehydration" if there are no visiable signs of violence they aren't going to bother with an autopsy or tox screen. This has been going on for a deacade. But like most things under Trump they feel like they can do it in the open now.
