Lindsey Graham Sets the Stakes for Midterms: GOP Winning in 2022 Would Mean The Party of Trump Is Not Dead and BuriedBy Josh Feldman Jun 18th, 2021, 5:21 pm
Senator Lindsey Graham (R- SC) spoke at the Faith and Freedom Coalitions Road to Majority conference Friday and said the stakes of the 2022 midterms couldnt be higher for the GOP.
He warned the audience if Democrats win in 2022 and 2024, Democrats will abolish the electoral college and pack the court and make D.C. and Puerto Rico states.
Winning in 2022 is the only option available for conservatism, Graham continued.

There is no evidence that Trump will automagically be anything but a loser.

(10,839 posts)Trumpism is a populist movement underpinned by alt-right authoritarianism. Lindsay and his friends seem perfectly comfortable with autocracy tied up with a fascist-designed ribbon and bow. What Senator Graham is unwilling to admit is that the Republican Party is an anti-democratic, unAmerican mindset.
Several senators, Mike Lee for instance, have stated that democracy is not the objective of the American system. Rand Paul has stated that majority rule is not what the country was founded on. J. D. Vance (referred to as a Trump whisperer and soon to be running for the Senate in Ohio) refers to the country as a nation state in which conservative values (?) need to be protected by destroying the opposition. The Koch contingent has been working for years to 'tweak' the Constitution thereby limiting Federal power and spending. They've admitted that the populace won't like the changes but that ultimately it would be for the best.
Paternalism, much? A nation state of what? White, evangelical, greedy/power hungry men? Democracy is a side thought and the minority view should rule the day bc these white, evangelical, greedy men know best.
Really???
This is what we're looking at. Graham's right about one thing. The elections in 2022 are indeed critical. It's the main reason the GOP is working feverishly to suppress and control the vote.
