I heard on one of the cable news shows this morning that he has told his caucus that if any of them choose to serve on the Select Committee, they may as well join the Party of Pelosi. He wants a complete boycott of the Committee.
McCarthy is an accomplice to perhaps the greatest betrayal in the history of our country. It is difficult to understand why everyone in his caucus would choose to follow him, instead of their conscience. He knows a lot but refuses to talk. Those that follow him are complicit. Being a member of Congress does not exempt them from having to deal with the facts and the law.
Will Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger be intimidated by McCarthy's threats? Or will they join with the Democrats to protect our nation?

(22,912 posts)They officially support it whether or not they decline a chance to sit on it. They know that the Dems on that committee will do their jobs with or without their direct involvement. Whether they now accept a Pelosi appointment if offered depends on their personal game plans for organizing resistance to Trump and all he stands for among other disaffected dissident Republicans and right leaning Independents.

(95,247 posts)I would be quite content with a committee of thirteen Democrats.
The committee will be described as irredeemably partisan, whatever its make-up, by the professional shit-heels of the right-wing media. There is never any point to not doing something lest Republicans call what you do partisan politics.
