Those who said in 2016 that the SC didn't matter, and either didn't vote or voted third party

I hope you are happy with the latest SC decisions on voting rights

Hillary lost every critical swing state by less than 1%, and in those critical swing states, Jill Stein received 1% of the vote

A lot of people were convinced Trump would not get the nomination or would win.

The problem of "not voting" wasn't just "I don't like 100% like the candidate", it was also a lot of "I'm sure the crazy won't win".

I had lunch with an old lefty political friend 2 weeks before the election and couldn’t dissuade her from Hillary-hatred.

I never saw her again — true, I moved, but my email address is still the same, and I have a phone. I just … couldn’t. The election of Trump was a gut-punch like no other.

And here we are, as Fiona Hill said in her testimony.

and who were sufficiently pissed to give the election to the other side. They had nothing at all to do with it. Nothing.
Just a hiccup. The real culprit are the 1% Stein voters from states not even affecting the electoral college result. Got it. /s

For all of our sake, let's just hope President Biden continues to push for and pass the Progressive planks of his platform including DC and PR statehood. THESE are the bold actions that will save us, not moderate bipartisan half assed BS.

…a re-occurrence of the 2016 debacle? How do we convince the lefties in our Democratic tent that as of now, and I mean now, not the misty past, the membership of the SCOTUS is a crisis that surpasses their need to “hold their nose,” or “make a statement,” or any of the other mantras that pass for idealism in their ranks? How do we convince them that any Democratic candidate for POTUS will have signed the Democratic platform, and that if they have a problem with that they really, truly, need to go read the GOP platform?

I am not picking a fight with you, I am expressing a very deep concern. 2016 led directly to 1/6/2021. And — I am pragmatic, not centrist.

Stop trying to drive off “left leaning “ voters

This op is trying to shame the left for hc loss without taking responsibility for driving them away

I don’t agree with all of the democratic platform but i can still happily vote with democrats that are more centrist than I am

If i had a dollar for every left bashing op here on du over the past 5-6 years I would be rich

And since we lost a couple states by less than 1percent we know it doesn’t take much

Heck i am hoping tfg holds on to a big enough percentage of voters that he splits the repubs forever

Um, pretty much everybody on the left is still furious about the illegal ruling from SCROTUS in 2000.

But I do get your point, if you are annoyed about the constant repetition of complaints about people who voted for Jill Stein, or whatever the fuck Susan Sarandon said. Yes, these are bad people. Now, what shall we do in the present day, in real life, to solve problems?

As for the rest of those drawn to hostile deceits about the Democratic Party, dished out by the same bad influences they're still listening to, LW or RW... they are what they are. I actually find the RW hate more tolerable than the leftist hypocrisy. At least they don't pretend to be us.

At least with RW types there are real differences between them and us.

When one is called the worst vicious names and accused of all sorts of sins and banished to Status Quo Neoliberal Centrist Establishment Hell by someone supposedly on the same side because one thinks the ACA with a public option has a better chance of passing than a Medicare for All plan, that's just ... nutty.
