Animal factories are one more sign of the extent to which our technological capacities have advanced faster than our ethics. -Peter Singer, philosopher, professor of bioethics (b. 6 Jun 1946)

Thanks for posting it!
Both my siblings are vegetarian but I've not yet made the total jump. DH likes his animal protein too much & I'm the cook here.

(28,125 posts)Sorry, but how does that have anything to do with our ethics? We don't go around burning down things, at least not too much.

(17,302 posts)Stopped eating animals and animal products 8 years ago. Took a little adjusting, but couldnt be happier not to contribute to factory farms anymore. There are so many plant proteins available now. You can be super healthy with a true whole food plant based diet or be less healthy and enjoy the meat, egg, butter and cheese substitutes but in both cases no longer support the cruelty.
Some of my favorite brands:
Impossible Burger
Miyoko butter
Follow Your Heart grated Parmesan and sliced provolone
Gardein Chicken Cutlets
Trader Joes Vanilla ice cream
Trader Joes individual cheese cakes in frozen case
Coco Whip (like cool whip)
So, so many choices these days

(28,125 posts)We tried the impossible Burger which I really like but my husband claims it's too salty for him. "Oh yeah well, let's kill a cow rather than you cut salt other places & take an extra diuretic."
Seriously tho, I need to write the company to request/ask if they could make a low sodium burger.
Anyway, thank you again for posting this list.

(17,302 posts)I dont know if Beyond Meat Burgers are as salty. I just like the texture better of Impossible but have a friend who prefers Beyond Burgers.
Have a great day!
And you too.
