A Quote For The DayAnimal factories are one more sign of the extent to which our technological capacities have advanced faster than our ethics. -Peter Singer, philosopher, professor of bioethics (b. 6 Jun 1946) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Yah, and when man learned to create fire, that was another!

1. Came in my word.a.day email which I forward
.. the good quotes & this was indeed a great quote!
Thanks for posting it! Both my siblings are vegetarian but I've not yet made the total jump. DH likes his animal protein too much & I'm the cook here. ![]() |

5. Word a Day is awesome!
Same guy, Anu Garg (?), who long ago in the early Interwebs had the "I, Rearrangement Server" anagram program that was a blast. |

2. About the fire...
Sorry, but how does that have anything to do with our ethics? We don't go around burning down things, at least not too much.

3. Right on.
Stopped eating animals and animal products 8 years ago. Took a little adjusting, but couldn’t be happier not to contribute to factory farms anymore. There are so many plant proteins available now. You can be super healthy with a true whole food plant based diet or be less healthy and enjoy the meat, egg, butter and cheese substitutes but in both cases no longer support the cruelty.
Some of my favorite brands: Impossible Burger Miyoko ‘butter’ Follow Your Heart grated Parmesan and sliced provolone Gardein ‘Chicken’ Cutlets Trader Joe’s Vanilla ‘ice cream’ Trader Joe’s individual ‘cheese’ cakes in frozen case Coco Whip (like cool whip) So, so many choices these days |

6. Thanks for listing those!
We tried the impossible Burger which I really like but my husband claims it's too salty for him. "Oh yeah well, let's kill a cow rather than you cut salt other places & take an extra diuretic."
Seriously tho, I need to write the company to request/ask if they could make a low sodium burger. Anyway, thank you again for posting this list. |

7. I know, right? Nearly all packaged foods have way to much salt 🙂
I don’t know if Beyond Meat Burgers are as salty. I just like the texture better of Impossible but have a friend who prefers Beyond Burgers.
Have a great day! |

4. I remain firmly convinced that when humans learned to control the use of fire our decline
began and continues in this day.
