Looks like the next school year isn't shaping up too well: Covid

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated its public health guidance for schools Friday, saying fully vaccinated teachers and students don’t need to wear masks inside school buildings.

The CDC’s new guidance comes about two months after federal health officials permitted the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid vaccine for kids ages 12 to 15, allowing most middle and high school students to get the shots ahead of the fall school semester.

Teachers and students who are not vaccinated should continue to wear masks indoors, the U.S. agency said, adding the practice is especially important when inside and in crowded settings, when social distancing cannot be maintained.

We’ve got a worldwide epidemic still killing thousands. The variants are described as causing various respiratory and circulatory problems in children, that could be permanent. We don’t know yet, because it’s a new disease.

Yet we yield and bow to the illiterate and ignorant Qpublican right, because they piss and moan loud enough on TV that the Democrats cower and give in to their bullying to stop masking.

It’s way past time to tell them to STFU, and stop putting children at risk because of their stupidity, and our reluctance to tell Rand Paul and all his ahole cohorts to f*ck off. No way would I let my kid in school without a clean N95 on every day.

4. I went to paramedic school at the hospital in the news in MO

I have friends that are nurses there- although they must be thinking of retirement at this point.

They are extremely concerned about the upcoming school year- many of the people being admitted right now (although NOT on vents) are pediatrics.

This situation is scary as crap. We have already had kids show up in Summer School that are sick (and no, I am not teaching this year).

be anything I'd enjoy. Even with an all-trumpist population replacing the old school-to-prison crowd.

As for this coming school year, whatever happens it should be much better than last barring a much worse new variant than any we've seen so far. And we have vaccines coming for under 12.

10. FL will not require masks and will continue to ignore the staggering growth in cases.

Death Sentence has said nothing about FL cases exploding upwards, he's totally ignoring it, a 48% increase in 3 (4?) weeks. He thinks it's all the poor people (it usually is) and is fine with this, the determined killer that he is.

That gives parents, teachers, and districts a chance to be prepared ahead of time.

Be proactive this time instead of reactive
