NOTE -- vaccination rate is approximate -- it is the Johns Hopkins data for number of vaccinated individuals / US census data. The US census data I have is from 2020... I use total population in the denominator, not population over 16 yrs old as many other sources do.
This is for all 50 states (excludes D.C, Puerto Rico, other territories)
I computed the average new number of daily cases from June 15 to June 29, and computed the average new number of daily cases from June 30 to July 13.
The movement of a point shows how the daily cases changes from June 29 to July 13, albeit a two week average at both ends.
Note that the lower the vaccination rate, the higher the rise in new daily cases.
Also note, there are only two states that see a drop in new daily cases. Even states with high vaccination rates are seeing a slight increase.
Delta variant is a tough customer.
I also saw the first red showing up in some counties in ND and SD. Look for daily case numbers to start rising in those states soon because, no surprise, vaccination rates are low in those states. Delta has just arrived there.

(44,973 posts)1. We up the creek without a paddle.
In my state, vaccination rates are below 50%.

(4,999 posts)2. I'm in WA, overall rate is 70%, but my county is stuck at 46%.
Governor opened up the entire state. At the time, I wished he'd opened county by county.
