Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is demanding that a parody website "cease and desist" operation because it is "defamatory" to the congresswoman.
Comedy writer Toby Morton revealed on Twitter that he had been contacted by the lawmaker's press secretary.
"Jake is the Press Secretary for @laurenboebert," Morton wrote. "Lauren told Jake to use his government email to send me a cease and desist order to take down my website, http://TheLaurenBoebert.com. Jake is not a lawyer. Jake is an idiot."Link to tweetLink to tweet

- Used car sales rep;
- Retail-store clerk at a Colorado legal-cannabis outlet;
- Custodian at a local Greyhound bus depot, in charge of cleaning restrooms; or
- Telemarketer, cold-calling for some insurance company, real estate agent, or other small (tiny) business.
The world is full of opportunities for this dude. But, perhaps not this particular world...
Wonder if he can move back in with his parents.

Having had my personal information hacked previously, I tend to err on the side of caution.
Pity!
Because -- as a Florida resident -- I was so looking forward to seeing what was posted about Congressman(!) Gaetz.
Has anyone here been so bold as to disregard the warning? And was it worth the risk?

(11,738 posts)Another aspect of comedy is to be able to laugh at yourself and to understand and convey the absurdity of everyday existence. Jerry Seinfeld, for his flaws, was very good at that before he became too self important.
Conservatives can rarely if ever, admit that they are wrong about anything, therefore, their "comedy" is always very defensive and never self aware.
Comedians like Chris Rock, Cedric the Entertainer, George Lopez, and Gabriel Iglesias talk about being Black or Latino, respectively and they use certain stereotypes, however, their comedy comes from personal experience and they connect with their audience on shared experience. People like Jeff Foxworthy and Craig Shoemaker do that with respect to certain segments of the White experience too.
Conservative comedians just seem to punch down, all the time, and that is not really funny in any sense of the word.

(111,277 posts)He even spells it out clearly at the bottom. She's got less of a leg to stand on than Devin Nunes did, which is probably why she's too cheap to hire a lawyer, that and the metal detector avoidance fines are mounting up.
I really hope she and that other waste of skin MTG are gone in 2023.
