Tfg would never allow a disruption. Probably had some goons rough it up.

Another blatant difference.

It was at a rally and a baby began to cry. Loser-45 (this was before the 2016 election) laughed it off and said he wasn’t bothered by the bay’s crying. He liked babies.

The baby kept crying so, about 5 seconds later he looked off stage and said “Get that baby outta here.” This public act of hypocrisy went down rather well with his crowd of chanting droolers. as I recall.

So he didn’t tell the mother to shut the kid up. He told her and the crowd that he liked babies and it was all alright. Then he ordered his goons to usher mother and baby out of the auditorium.

Sorry, I know where you're coming from and that this story is supposed to show what a great, tolerant guy Joe Biden is but I'm on the autistic spectrum and have sensory issues that make sitting next to a screaming baby literal torture. Some neurodivergent peoples' brains are wired to amplify noise or to set off a panic reaction or nails on chalkboard reaction to certain sounds that wouldn't bother neurotypical people.

People came to hear the speech. If there is a source of unnecessary noise that is distracting from the speech, it should be removed from the room.

Yes, Joe said it's fine but it's not. There's situations where noise from screaming babies absolutely can't be removed from a crowd but there are lots of situations where it can and should. It's not OK to ignore your screaming child in a restaurant or a movie theatre or any other public space where they are obviously bothering other people and can be taken somewhere else.

Please don't leave screaming babies in public spaces on the basis that "normal" people aren't bothered by it. I don't think we should shame or judge people for "not being able to control their child". But neither should we say only "normal" people who aren't bothered by the noise of screaming kids should get to stay in and enjoy public spaces if the purpose of the space is for adults to relax or to try to listen to something important.

But I still don’t get mad at the baby, it’s parents, or the universe where babies cry. I get mad at my tinnitus every now and again, usually late on a quiet night. But I don’t get upset that there are quiet nights.

I hope that explains what I mean.

if it can be helped, one parent should leave with the child. I love that Joe Biden was kind about it, because that's who he is, but the parents should understand that they signed up for a few years of possibly missing out some things when they had a baby. It's rude (and potentially traumatizing, in your case) to expect others listen to their baby scream because they have FOMO.
