Former President Donald Trump once called German Chancellor Angela Merkel a "b----," according to an excerpt of a new book, "I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump's Catastrophic Final Year," by Washington Post journalists Carol D. Leonnig and Philip Rucker.
The book excerpt, published in CNN late Wednesday, quotes Trump during an Oval Office meeting about NATO and the US' relationship with Germany.
"That b---- Merkel," he reportedly told his advisors.
The former president went on to use a derogatory term for German soldiers in World War I and World War II, according to the book.
"I know the f---ing krauts," Trump reportedly said.
"I was raised by the biggest kraut of them all," he added, while pointing to a framed photograph of his father on the table, Fred Trump, the book says.

Mostly same young woman.
That relationship ended when I jumped out of her moving car and left some of my skin and blood on the streets of Berkeley.
She was fluent in a few other languages as well.

(175,742 posts)He was an American GI. I knew enough German to react badly to him enough to get rid of him. I'd just landed after 18 hours on a much-delayed plane and had no interest in anything other than food or sleep at that moment.
Brushing him off was pretty easy. I don't think he was very bright because he never figured out that I was an American.
No one else ever even came close. Maybe they had the idea that I was/am a terrible candidate for the role of a German hausfrau.
