I feel like I'm late in learning about this.
What's new: Researchers at the U's College of Veterinary Medicine looked for antibodies in blood samples taken from hundreds of cats and dogs between April and June of 2020.
About 8% of cats and less than 1% of dogs showed evidence of past infection.
Why it matters: Pets "can be the source of a range of infectious diseases," so determining how susceptible they are to COVID-19 and the virus' prevalence among them could have "significant impacts for both human and animal health," wrote professor Hinh Ly, a co-author of the research paper, in a statement.

(12,480 posts)If I caught covid and I'd
Have to avoid Othello.
He gets concerned when I get sick and he wants to comfort me,make sure I'm ok and to sleep with me.
He gets upset if I suffer. He's concerned and wants to investigate and make sure I am ok.
Having to shut him out away from me,that would hurt both of us.
If you have a pet that loves you, and you love them just wear the damn mask and distance from people dammit!
