Remember the guy who stormed the Capitol in a gladiator outfit? According to the FBI, the whole time he was recording a video for his mom, who he lives with.

“I made it, Mom. I made it to the top. Mom, look, I made it to the top…I wish you were here!”

Nathan Wayne Entrekin, a man who wore a Roman gladiator costume to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot in support of former President Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election, was arrested by federal authorities on Thursday.

Entrekin, whom online “sedition hunters” had dubbed “Caesar No Salad,” wore his costume to portray Captain Moroni, a figure from the Book of Mormon who ― as spelled out in Entrekin’s FBI affidavit ― “sought to defend the liberties of his people ― the Nephites ― from another group ― the Amalickiahites ― that wanted to overthrow democracy and install a king.” He was arrested in Cottonwood, Arizona.

A tipster contacted the FBI about Entrekin on Jan. 11, and the FBI was able to confirm his identity through “a review of public databases and open source intelligence (OSINT)” as well as an interview with Entrekin on Feb. 2.

The FBI got permission to search Entrekin’s phone. On it, they found videos of him narrating the scene for his mother (whom he lives with) about what he’s seeing at the Capitol.

“I’m here, Mom!” Entrekin says in one video. “This is my flag!”

and the world would view them as patriotic heroes. They also thought Trump would be sworn in as President and would probably pardon them all, maybe even give out medals. They were just doing what their dear leader told them to do.

The fact that they were committing a crime(s) never occurred to them, so brainwashed they are.

I guess it never dawned on them that they might not succeed. It was like they were characters in their favorite action movies.

Idiot is on the wrong side even within the framework of his weird made-up mythology.
I mean, Amalickiah is basically Trump, wanting to overthrow democracy to be king...

32. To be fair, we all wrap ourselves in chosen identity costumes

We all wrap ourselves in chosen identity-costumes meant to display/reflect/acknowledge our (as we understand it) self-identity and place in the world; be they wrappers of uniforms, three-piece suits, hippie gowns, camouflage or other clowns' suits.

More than just clothes our wrappers include our desires, opinions, persuasions, beliefs, education, occupations, preferences, revulsion's, etc. We are all born with given wrappers of body, family, time and place. After that our we begin to dress ourselves; our costumes become expressions of self-identity.
Over time we likely replace our wardrobes; childhood desires give way to carnal desires. Our body wrappers clearly change and gender can too.

Caesar no Salad had a back story involving Mormon theology and thus the imprimatur of an identity aligned with Divine intentions.
Mixing up one's self with some Divine self is a recipe for disaster.

Personally, I stroll around town (international port city and country Capitol) wrapped in a dhoti, reflecting nothing more than my weird taste.

And really: "defending liberty from those who would install a king"? That's ironic.
