President Joe Biden's approval rating among independent voters has soared following a sharp decline at the end of June, according to an Ipsos survey.

The Ipsos weekly approval tracker found that Biden's rating among independents stood at 52 percent in its latest survey, which was conducted on July 14 and 15.

The president's overall approval rating is 53 percent and his disapproval is 42 percent. The survey's margin of error is 3.5 percentage points.

Biden enjoys 88 percent approval among Democrats—a slight dip from 91 percent in the previous survey on July 7 and 8. His approval among Republicans stands at 17 percent, up from 13 percent a week earlier.

1. Appears that the 'We hate Joe & think he's a bowl of s**t' group is shrinking.

Can't imagine why people are turning quietly away from that bunch! 😄

You know what, we're all just getting tired of the hate.
Joe Biden reminds us that it need't be that way.
People have moved on & found peace in embracing the better of humanity.

Haters are never going to convince people to hate Joe Biden.

Because he's Joe Biden 💙

2. There's too Much Noise on the Left Demanding Joe Do Things That He Doesn't Have the Power to Do

That explains that 88% among Dems. I expect irrational attacks on the right but when our own side is screaming because Joe can't end the filibuster now or get the voting rights legislation passed I roll my eyes. Sadly some of this complaining comes from people who should know better like Bob Reich.

even if there is no practical way to end the filibuster right now. Loyal resistance is important to gaining and maintaining an edge. Steel needs flint to strike a spark. Biden and Harris are calm and steady captains. The Republican party is rotting away and can't unflow that entropy. Everyone needs to be authentic and perform their role in this script. The future is brilliant beyond understanding now.

3. Here's the problem with these types of headlines

People don't understand statistics or what a margin of error is and headlines like this exploit that.

Saying it declined sharply and then surged is ridiculous when nothing really happened. A margin of error of 3.5% in this particular poll...which only means that if everything were perfect it would still miss that 1 out of 20 times.....and results of 45 and 52....those are both within that margin of error.

It's much more likely that his approval didn't fall OR rise more than a point or so. It's steady though that time and the results are a product of some noise.

7. +1, the "rise" would be if he went up out of MOE. I think innumeracy in the US keeps dems from

... winning elections down ballot too, it was raised as an issue in studies of why down ballot dems lost in 2020.

They say the polling was off I say dem campaigns didn't understand the MOE swing

and

one poll said our branding / messaging was "vague" down ballot and clear up top, of course we don't have the M1A2 tank of a messaging infrastructure the GQP has
