College Republicans are facing disharmony in their ranks after Courtney Britt was elected chair of the College Republican National Committee, the National Review reports.
The election's legitimacy has been challenged after "only about 60 percent of CRNC affiliates were allowed to cast ballots.
Britt reportedly "spent much of the day, however, voting not to allow numerous states which had been sidelined over disputed credentialing issues representation in the chairman's race. It is widely believed that [Judah] Waxelbaum would have had a sizable majority had all 52 eligible federations cast ballots. Just over 30 were actually allowed to."
Allegations of voter fraud were rampant.
"At one point, a debate broke out over Arkansas being stripped of its votes last Sunday under allegations of voter fraud in its state chairman election; the state's actual party chairman has weighed in on the matter, assuring the CRNC that everything was on the up and up. Nevertheless, Britt a graduate of Richmond Law School argued that the state should remain disenfranchised since it hadn't presented evidence that fraud had not occurred," the National Review explained.
.
.
Within minutes of her election, both the New York and Texas federations announced that they would be meeting to discuss secession," the publication reported.
.
.
"Students from multiple other federations have also told National Review that they are considering leaving. One person connected with the Waxelbaum campaign implied that Florida and California are likely to withdraw from the CRNC. That would mean the organization would lack representation in the four largest states," the National Review reported.

Well, I guess they quite haven't perfected the criming yet at the College level. Give them time.

Prove fraud DID NOT occur?
That's some Republican logic right there.

(21,664 posts)He ran for the post, got only one vote (his own, presumably) - and when the rich brat who did win went to claim his victory, little Karl called a point of order.
The ballots, as it turned out, all had a small flaw nobody noticed (a missing seal, or something like that) - except, of course, his.
The rich brat went all the way to the RNC head - George H.W. Bush - to protest. But when Bush heard of Rove's little feat, he was so impressed he hired him.
And the rest, as they say, is history.

(12,597 posts)Google will show you 1000s of pictures with women happily squatting in pictures. This particular group of students may be dipshits, but none of those women are being "made" to squat. Or the one standing wouldnt be.
Its ridiculous.

(25,403 posts)In fact, when I started college (mid-1960s) at Auburn University, in Alabama, Kay Ivey was the president of the student body. She is now the Republican Governor of the State of Alabama. It is said that, like Bojangles, she drinks a bit. It is also said that her chief of staff, Jo Bonner, runs the state.
I know Jo well. He was a US Congressman, representing Alabama's 1st Congressional District (Mobile), and representing it well, until he resigned suddenly from Congress in 2013, about 45 days before the October 1 government shutdown. I think Jo knew something and didn't want to stain his reputation. And he was brought up in the University of Alabama shadow school of future politicians (think Joe Scarborough - Morning Joe).
Jo's ambition was always to be the governor of Alabama. He even named his dog "Governor."
Ironically, another friend of mine, Steve X, wants (or wanted) to be governor of Alabama. Steve was a staunch, yellow-dog Democrat, who was the very effective mayor of a medium-size Alabama town (pop. 35,000 more-or-less) for thirty years. Steve ran for student body president at Auburn University in 1967 (IIRC), a few years after Kay Ivey graduated, and lost.
But Steve X, D-AL, met Donald Trump in Mobile, when Trump held the rally there (with Jeff Sessions) in 2016. Steve became a rabid Trumpster and is now full-blown MAGA to the core. Steve, if he ran, would win a primary over moderate (if that adjective can even be used anymore) Republican Jo Bonner. Maga trumps Moderate in Alabama, always.
But back to the College Republicans and the Young Republicans, and my experiences with them, in general. In general, young Repubicans are the most vacuous assholes I have ever known.
