Congress needs to pass a law immediately dealing with harsh penalties for domestic terrorism.

Define it, define its enforcement, define its penalties.

3. We already have existing laws that deal with sedition, insurrection and treason. Why aren't

they being used? Why?

4. It wouldn't be applicable to the Jan 6 Insurrection

You can't change the rules after a crime. Constitution prohibits ex post facto laws.

6. Congress can't even get a vanilla infrastructure bill passed

That enjoys widespread public support. What in the world makes you think they could pass something way more divisive?

7. And watch it be used against BLM and similar protests

A Republican will be in the executive again some day.

When defining domestic terrorism, one must be very careful. Whatever weapon we put in our own hands will one day be a gun in theirs.

9. I agree. The trash from Jan. 6th are being treated like petty crooks by the court.

There should be a completely separate set of laws to deal with domestic terrorism.

Something I would absolutely leave out are "sentencing guidelines", and min/max sentences. If one is involved in a domestic terror act, or plot, there should be one level of prison sentence (decades) when found guilty, with an execution option for the most egregious acts.
