With area hospitals nearly filled to capacity, an anti-vaccine mob tried to force their way into the Orange County, FL govt building today when it was closed, demanding to see the mayor.

Several area businesses are coming together to join Disney and require employees be vaccinated, and the anti-vaccers are demanding that the Mayor stop them.

about what it means to be a private business. Never had problems with shirts and shoes to get service, but masks, that made them all flip out.

My grandfather worked his farm barefoot until the 50’s.

It embarrassed his kids. Now they realize he went without them so they could wear them to school. They were poor. But like my grandfather used to say he owned his own land and never sharecropped. Those people often went hungry.

Disney’s decision to require a vaccine for employment is devastating to his political hopes. More and more businesses now feel comfortable making the same decision because the biggest one has. They’ve lost too much revenue and want this over.

So he is boxed in. Attack businesses? The cruise lines are pretty much telling him to fuck off already.

Is he going to go to war with the theme parks? Good luck with that in Florida.

Sad that private institutions do a better job of protecting public health than our governments - in certain places. Wait, it's Republican control that makes businesses become communist/socialist!

I was in a restaurant over a year ago and the manager at the bar was bitching about Disney raising their starting pay to $15 an hour because they would have to do the same. He knew I disagreed quickly.

We are not real beach people unless fishing. We mainly do the Nature Coast, big bend and Forgotten Coast. Crystal River to Port St. Joe.

No people, beautiful water, lots of fish and good rental house prices. But we go with a boat.

I live just an hour from Crystal River.

The Mouse is being cheered on by a bevy of Disney princesses, complete with pompoms. DeSantis' cheering section consists of a bunch of scuzzy looking guys in MAGA hats and antivax tshirts, waving Confederate and Nazi flags.

The Mouse is winning. DeSantis is sweating bullets.

Businesses are starting to do what DeSantis won’t. More and more are mandating vaccines for employment. Disney started a wave.

And Disney is in negotiations with the unions to get the mandate for the hourly cast. We are talking 70,000 employees mandated to get the vaccine for continued employment.

My wife has an employee who was vocal last week when Disney made the announcement. Said she would quit first if required of her. She’s now in the hospital. Yep, Covid.
