Listening to NI radio this week, a chap with prostrate cancer has had his operation cancelled twice cause unvaccinated selfish wankers have got Delta and are sucking up the ICU beds. Fuck them. They have the choice not to be vaccinated, but they are ensuring than responsible members of the community have delayed care, that may lead to death. Selfish nasty bastards sucking the air that is needed for people who have done the right thing. Every single person who does not get a vaccine is part of a nasty death cult horrid Q bollocks that puts us all in danger. Shame on them.

(1,586 posts)My daughter has been a CNA for 12 years, the last 6 in hospitals, the last 1.5 years in covid units/ICUs. She just moved to where her fiance lives and decided to take a job at an adult day care rather then go back to the job she was so good at and loved. She also took a big but in pay and no overtime.
She called yesterday to tell me she is going to apply to college to become an elementary school teacher instead of nursing. She said Covid killed her passion for the job. She ended up in therapy and has PTSD because of it. The same goes for many of her co-workers. They are burnt out.

(21,714 posts)They seemed to have everything very organized. Kept the relatively healthy separate from the people who had Covid symptoms. I have cellulitis, so while it needed an ER visit, it wasn't too serious. I was kept pretty separate from everybody else.

(63,221 posts)I know it's not very compassionate, but I am getting to the point where I am beginning to think that hospitals should just put all non-vaccinated Covid patients out in a big Covid tent outside the main hospital, set them up on a vent if that's what is needed and treat them when they get to them, but not prioritize them over other sick patients.
It is their own selfishness that has gotten them in their situation and that is straining our healthcare resources to the breaking point. Seriously ill patients, doctors, nurses and other hospital staff should not have to suffer because so many idiots wrongly and pigheadedly decided not to take a simple, preventative step to protect themselves and others.
They should be last on the list of a hospital's priorities as far as I am concerned.
