2. Try being a HCW and hearing that from an ER full of probable COVID-19 patients.

A prayer or hopeful thoughts for the HCWs trying to deal with this through 18 months of COVID burn-out and angry argumentative people denying the disease even exists. Pretty soon we will have few experienced staff--who are leaving or retiring in droves if they have other options-- because the abuse is cumulative. We will all suffer as a result.

4. I have a good friend who's a HCW

She says that she and her fellow HCWs save their sanity by telling themselves that their patients brought it on themselves by not getting vaccinated. She works in Florida and says that 60% of the patients in their hospital are covid patients.

And also they have to worry about the dangers to their health and their families. I hope these courageous and dedicated health care workers are able to stay safe and healthy.

13. My daughter is a traveling COVID ICU nurse.

She contracts to the overwhelmed, understaffed hospitals that are screaming for help. She just started in Tennessee. It is all she has been doing for over a year and a half. I got to briefly see her in July in between jobs. I see the change in her. She has lost friends and co-workers to this crap.

I quite frankly don't know how much longer medical people can continue doing what they are doing day after day after day and it not having a profound effect on a lot of them. And the anger she is trying to keep at bay because of all the people that believe what politicians tell them over what doctors are telling them. She was raised in rural Pennsylvania, a very red area, and she no longer even talks to her best friends from all through school. I can think of 3 of them that were in her wedding she was so close with them. What she sees and experiences on a daily basis and what they blow off as some great hoax or silly exaggeration for political purposes is far beyond frustrating. Well, many of them might find out the hard way now. Rural areas are now the five star dinner of COVID.

16. My son and DIL rented their downstIairs to a traveling nurse.

It was a perfect mesh of personalities. She moved on and now they have young woman just out of college and working for VISTA. (Her parents are happy with the arrangement.)

If anyone has extra room and could use a little extra cash contact your hospital. These nurses pay regular rental rate because few people (like my son) just want these sheroes to have a safe clean inexpensive place to stay.

One, I am so glad my husband and I are retired nurses. We worry about those still working.

And also, I never thought I would care so little for so many sick people. If they are sick without the vaccine, they had access to the

same information we did. It is everywhere. They chose to believe ignorant liars.

15. A sister was talking about her healthy 42 yr old brother that died and that before dying regretted.

I posted that while he was selfish with his own life, he put others at risk and danger so though sad, he did not have value of others lives any more than his own. I further expressed sadness for the sister, mother, daughter's loss of this man. But I think it has to be said as they talk regret, and what a good person, that they also had not an iota concern for their fellow man.
