Half of Costa Rica has received a Covid-19 vaccine
In July, nearly 1 million doses were administered, a single-month record.

We still have many restrictions. No maskholes.

Both said they were getting jabbed this week. I pray they are both representative.

Especially if looked at the county level.

It should be dark red like LA and FL.

There could be several reasons for this under reporting... One is they are fudging the data and another is that their reporting system is overwhelmed. Possibly a combination of both.

If $25 could buy you 25 multipacks of ramen, would you "waste" the money on confirming it's just a summer cold??

Plus the bus fare to/from the testing sites.

Also, there are those who could afford to get tested but won't.

Which would mean most of the reported cases are people who are hospitalized.

One problem is that most of those non-testing reasons are also true in the four deep red states.

Looking at the county vaccination and spread maps and comparing them with surrounding states East Texas should be much redder. Because it has comparable low vaccination rates with LA and AR.

What is especially interesting is that far West Texas is exactly what you'd expect with a high vaccination rate and low population density.
