The Federal government is rushing into Mississippi to save the hospital system

?s=21

NEWS: The federal government is rushing into Mississippi to help as COVID-19 threatens the state's entire medical system.

Without drastic change, "I think we’re going to see failure of the hospital system in Mississippi" in 5-10 days, says Dr. Alan Jones.

Y'know, I'd been operating on the assumption that it was the job of adults to look out for and protect kids.

More fool me.

the number of Covid patients down here, or at least not them and everybody else. And it's all due to people believing bullshit from the internet or Fox News or their preacher instead of the scientists. I'm not saying they deserve to die, but they have brought this on themselves. I hope we get the help that the medical professionals need to care for everyone. It would be awful to see our hospital system crash. Then all we'd need is a hurricane to come finish us off.

Send all of the willfully unvaxxed adults to palliative care facilities.

Tents, parking garages, warehouses, etc.

Just quarantined with food, water and a cot.

Children first for hospital care.

It would be a sad sight, but it was preventable. I hope the people who aren't sick are getting vaccinated now. This situation should make believers out of them.

9. We're back to putting people in the hospital hallways to die. This time it was preventable.

WHEN THE VACCINE IS STILL FREE.

Did you get your free shot?
No.
No cot for you. Go home. If your not dead in 2 weeks, come back and we might have a bed available.

SO done with their bullshit. Dont care how they feel about me saying it, either.

15. Problem with sending them home is they infect others, and the problem multiplies.

They have to be quarantined.

I advocate exactly how it went down in the 1918-1920 flu pandemic.

Very basic facilities where you live or die by your own volition.

Memphis and Birmingham? Do they have any extra capacity?

Tupelo and UMMC can probably stand up 100 beds each by doing things like moving spine surgeon's to COVID ICU wards -- which Ocshner in LA is doing, and Rt in NOLA is < .9 so we may have a few beds in a week, but this is just nuts.

It's bad all over the South, though, so I would imagine that they're having a hard time too. I think we're going to have to do makeshift hospitals. They will be a pain in the ass to set up, but I don't see a way around it. They might find some decent buildings that are vacant and can be used. I feel sorry for anyone who needs to go to the hospital now!
