anti-abortion State Rep. Accused of Choking, Attempting to Tie Up Woman, Resigns From Legislature

A Kentucky state Representative who was accused of choking and attempting to tie up a woman during a domestic argument in the spring of 2020 resigned from the state legislature Tuesday after being reelected last year, the Associated Press reported.

"At this time, family and personal circumstances demand my full attention and focus," Goforth wrote in his resignation letter.

He currently faces criminal charges for strangulation and assault. In 2019, Goforth was a former gubernatorial candidate and ran against then-Governor Matt Bevin in the GOP primary.

Christian. Husband. Father. Veteran. Pharmacist. Business Owner. Farmer. State Representative. Conservative. These are some of the words that describe Dr. Robert Goforth.

As a kid, I used to love watching Hagee. I prayed to see if anything would happen. Nothing.

As a child of atheists, when I entered my teen years, I guess it was rebellious even watching it, and I felt feel smug thinking I knew what fakers they were.

Then I finally grew up, and now, I find people like him and his son and Ken Ham...less entertaining. It's downright depressing really.

Yeah, facing criminal charges will do that to a fellow, Bobby. I hope you get the best representation and the fairest trial Kentucky has ever seen. And then I hope you get thrown in jail for a really long time. I strongly suspect this episode wasn't the first or only time Dr. Goforth has done this to a woman.

This is just too reminiscent of Gov. Greitens of Missouri who hogtied and blindfolded a woman and took revealing photos of her without permission. What is wrong with these "family values" Republicans?!!

I swear, the more people talk about how "Christian" and "devout" they are, the more corrupt, perverted, hypocritical and hateful they are under their phony "bible-thumping" personas.
