Renter begs for help after finding landlord living in her garden shed of her newly rented home

A renter got more than she bargained for when she discovered her landlord was living in the garden shed of her newly leased property.

The woman took to Fairy Floss, a Facebook real estate group for metropolitan Melbourne, asking its 267,500 members for advice about the bizarre scenario.

She said her landlord had told her he would be storing some belongings in the shed, but it quickly became apparent that he was living there.

After confronting him, he offered to pay her $300 (AUD) a month if she allowed him to stay, insisting he would only be there for a maximum of 45 days.

But when the renter demanded her landlord sign a contract confirming he would leave the shed in 45 days, he changed his mind and said he needed to stay for three months.

If he is just trying to save a buck cause he is a cheapo or if he was trying to save his home would be a consideration.

Not ideal I will agree.

He should have said so upfront, though.

4. Garden sheds don't have bathrooms. Maybe he's sneaking into her unit when she's gone.

knowing he has the keys and is living right outside the door of his former home? I bet he sneaks inside.

He has to go somewhere.
Bathrooms, shower etc are not present in garden sheds. So where is he going?

He should have found someone and cut a deal with them prior to renting. I don't know about where he lives, but where I am people are begging for housing. They'd LOVE to cut a deal with someone.

His financial status really shouldn't be her problem, yet he obviously turned it into one.
