https://www.ibtimes.sg/janene-hoskovec-sap-employee-fired-after-intentionally-coughing-shoppers-nebraska-grocery-store-60123Lady was fired from SAP who attempted to assault mask wearers. I assume she had a high-paying job

(3,505 posts)Meaning, the total lack of awareness that ones actions could have consequences. She surely didn't think anyone would do anything to her for her actions. There's a reason why POC have far more run ins with the law than folks with low melanin levels. Don't ya think?

(31,257 posts)white people only. There's been bad behavior from every color of the rainbow since this pandemic began. I can also affirm that in my own family, there were those who didn't believe this virus was real. Trust me, after losing scores of family members, church members, schoolmates, etc., they believe it now.

Don't know how SAP pays, but just read that "client partners" average $62/hour. With this update to her CV, maybe she'll go into politics.

(14,950 posts)And it has excellent benefits. Contractors tend to be job shop stuff. But if you have SAP creds and consult elsewhere, you can make $150+hr.
She sounds like a standard IT tool though. Probably in the $75-$100k range.
Whatever it is, she can expect half or less elsewhere since elsewhere won't be a top tier company. With fewer benefits.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)first employment website I came on.
Well, we saw her awful "before." Whatever had her so aggressively hostile before, she has rational reason to be upset now, minus the smiling confidence. I read that that county has a mask mandate and that elsewhere a number of hoodlums have been prosecuted for coughing at people.

(4,170 posts)Successful companies run a social media check on all prospective employees, and her name will pull up a bonanza of material. Why hire someone with such a high profile for controversy, not to mention questionable judgment.
Hortensis
(58,785 posts)have serious concerns about her judgement and ethics (as they relate to them).
Random Boomer
(4,170 posts)Even if individual executives agree with her stance on masking, companies loathe controversy and bad publicity. There's no upside to having an employee's photo plastered all over the internet, with their company affiliation dragged through whatever controversy is at stake. Also, losing your shit in public is a tip-off that you're not a good investment.

(14,950 posts)$60/hour is pretty much what a sql expert, a very good windows admin (specializing in azure, ad, etc), or other generic specialty would get.
If you SAP certifications and a track record, you could easily get $150/hour from an agency. I was on a project where they paid a middleware expert $300/hour.
She likely isn't a contractor though. It sounds like she "was" an employee.
Now, she can't even get unemployment.

(34,126 posts)Her mother appears to live in Nebraska, wears a mask in photos posted on her facebook page, as well as promoting quarantining early in the pandemic.
My guess is that she was visiting her mother and figured no one would know her so she felt freer to ack like a jackass in the store.

Just kidding. Some coworkers went there for a conference in Lincoln and loved it.

(31,415 posts)and was ecstatic when we moved. Yes, Lincoln is the most liberal area of the state, but that's not saying much. Very right wing diocese and lots of anti choice zealots. They used to picket the Presbyterian church in our neighborhood because the OB/Gyn who did abortions was a deacon there. They'd surround this huge church on Sunday morning holding up giant posters of aborted fetuses. They harassed the place where his wife worked to the point she was fired. Nice people.

(47,741 posts)than the arrogant rudeness. She knew she was being recorded and that seemed to just spur her on. She went out of her way to ridicule and attack perfect strangers in a grocery store. It didn't even faze her that she was being recorded or that other people were watching.

(65,381 posts)Depending upon how many modules are turned on, it can be used to track transactions in a company, from inventory control, procurement, accounts payable/receivable, transportation, HR, quality records, etc.
It has a huge proprietary relational database that allows connections across multiple functions, locations, and divisions. Basically, every piece of data that could possibly be related to other types, is interconnected.
It's often set up for FDI. (Financial data interchange.) IOW, bills can be automatically paid, invoices can receive funds directly, electronically.
Every module turned on cost big bucks.
When the company I worked for went to SAP, it was a $35 million dollar project. 10 years later, when the Quality Module was turned on, they paid $4 million, which was 50% of list!
It's designed to be browser based, but most integrators use a custom browser, instead of using Chrome or Firefox, or other.
It takes significant training just for users. And, after QA testing is complete, Superusers are trained to actually be around other workers overseeing & providing assistance for several weeks.
There are other big products like this, but SAP is VERY broadly used, nearly everywhere in the world.
I don't miss extracting data from it.

(2,207 posts)Coughing on people in public to make a political statement along with violating a mask mandate deserves this kind of outing. I can't fathom how low we have come to where seemingly normal people behave this way because of political tribalism. Disgusting.
Hope this starts to serve as a warning for others that engage in this kind of behavior but I kind of doubt it... dystopian.
