(16,139 posts)This is who he is. He's a mean-spirited little rich boy who is still mad because mommy didn't hug him enough.

(42,646 posts)It cant be that common because Im in my 6th decade and this is absolutely the first time Ive ever heard of that. I wonder what percentage of adoptive parents of infants choose to do that?

(5,693 posts)seems like more to us in the lactation community, perhaps. Its a very satisfying thing for a couple who perhaps struggled for years to conceive. And naturally its often a well to do mother who can dedicate the time. 🤱🏻👩🏼?🍼🧑🏾?🍼

(52,430 posts)first, there's plenty of reason to believe that the current inflation is (a) a largely artificial result of comparing today's prices to price last year, when they were artificially *low* because of the pandemic and (b) a temporary phenomenon as things get back to normal as the pandemic hopefully is coming to a close.
second, inflation only really harms savers -- those with cash-based assets that lose value as prices rise. many americans have debt, which because less of a burden with inflation. so homeowners benefit as the home prices rise but the debt becomes easier to pay down.
for many middle class americans, the home and mortgage are by far their largest financial exposures, so the benefit of financial benefit of inflation to them as homeowners far outweighs the financial cost of routine purchases rising faster than wages (wages also tend to go up with inflation, but usually they lag relative to other prices). granted there may be a cash flow challenge, but if it's a big enough problem, a home equity loan or mortgage refinancing can solve that.
even non-homeowners who simply have a lot of consumer debt may wind up better off, again, there may be a cash flow challenge, but the debt becomes easier to pay off once wages start to rise.
*rich* americans, yeah. nearly every single *rich* american is worse off with inflation. again, unless they have a ton of debt.

(7,413 posts)Family leave such as this is important for both parents regardless of gender or sexual orientation of course.
But it seems like his crass statement would be applicable and offensive regardless of the man being straight or gay since neither can breastfeed.

(2,252 posts)Did he chastise Fox news guys for taking maternity leave? Maybe Pucker needs to be confronted by another irate concerned citizen who will call him "the worst human being known to mankind."Maybe Pucker misses the days when he and his wife would have dinner with Matt Gaetz and his teen queen date. Who knows? Oh I know, Nestor, Matt's adopted son knows.
