TV broadcasts for Sinclair-owned channels have gone down today across the US in what the stations have described as technical issues, but which multiple sources told The Record to be a ransomware attack.
The incident occurred in the early hours of the day and took down the Sinclair internal corporate network, email servers, phone services, and the broadcasting systems of local TV stations.
As a result of the attack, many channels werent able to broadcast morning shows, news segments, and scheduled NFL games, according to a barrage of tweets coming from viewers and the TV channels themselves.

(41,960 posts)Its been pretty funny, tbh. Theyve literally used a white board for a couple of stories, are having to go to commercial at odd times when things didnt load, etc. I kind of have to hand it to the anchor; shes keeping her cool.
One thing I wonder aboutit HAS to have just been a dumb mistakewas the story in Colin Powell. Some of the photos in the story werent Powell. They were of a black man who sort of resembled him but the anchors face clearly indicated she knew it was messed up.
I hope she gets paid well. 🤣

I wonder if that is part of this or another ransomware attack.

I will NEVER forget Sinclairs role in the swiftboating of John Kerry. I called my local Sinclair outlet and they were like, were just following orders
Fuck them. Whoever orchestrated this did everyone a huge favor today.
