We may soon be finding out. Also I hope we find out about all those White House meetings in November, December, and January . . .

(21,408 posts)I believe that Steve Pieczenik is part of the brain trust behind the coup. Back in the 2016 election I got to watching his videos on You Tube, back then he was saying things like, Hillary is planning a coup so we must run a counter coup. He is a friend of Alex Jones and has appeared on Infowars. As I said I have no proof of his involvement except for what he has been posting on You Tube. He was a hostage negotiator, he is a very smart person, he knows how to control the narrative, how to control people's minds.
When I saw that his friend Alex Jones was at this hotel it brought back my thoughts on Pieczernik.

No shit. Trump:
Helped to pay for it.
Gave out over a dozen invitations to the violence in which he gave the day, the date, the time, and the place.
Had his chief of staff Nick Mulvaney's niece fill out the paper work for the permit for his pre-riot pep talk.
Told the crowd to go and storm the Capitol so as to protect America's freedoms.
Fired Sec. of Defense Mark Esper and installed Christopher Miller who gave stand down orders to the D.C.
National Guard on 1/4/21.
Refused to call of his supporters when asked to do so from Rep. McCarthy and V.P. Pence.
Watched the violence and chaos on T.V. and did nothing.
Knew of planning sessions for the violence in 2 different D.C. Hotels.
And at the end of the day let the violent thugs walk away and told them that he loved them and was
proud of them. President Trumps Chilling Message to Violent Mob Overtaking Capitol: "Go Home. We Love You, Youre
Very Special."

What Trump was looking for on 1/6/21 was to have so much violence up to and including the muder
of Speaker Pelosi & Vice President Pence so he could declare martial law and stop the Constitutionally
mandated transfer of power.

(6,557 posts)According to Wikipedia:
"Adelson sat out the 2016 Republican primaries, with some early indicators at the beginning of 2016 interpreted as showing that Adelson favored Trump.[109] In May 2016, explaining his reasons for officially endorsing Donald Trump's presidential bid, Adelson cited the importance of CEO experience in a presidential nominee.[103]
For the 2018 United States elections, Adelson donated approximately $113 million to the Republican Party through various conservative political action committees.[110]
On January 31, 2019, ABC News reported that Adelson and his wife Miriam had contributed $500,000 to the Patriot Legal Expense Fund Trust, which was set up in 2018 to assist aides of President Trump under investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller's probe into Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections. The contributions are the Trust's largest to date.[111]
It was estimated Adelson would donate $200 million to Trump and the GOP for the 2020 election cycle.[17] Given a call to Adelson by Trump in early August complaining that Adelson had not done enough for him, there was speculation that the amount of a donation could be affected.[112] On October 15, 2020, Adelson gave $75 million to a Trump PAC, in a late push for reelection.[113] In the second half of October 2020, Adelson and his wife gave a further $35 million to three super-PACs supporting the Republican Party and Trump's re-election.[114] PACs to which the Adelsons donated in the 2020 cycle included Preserve America and the Senate Leadership Fund.[115]"
Aside: Sheldon Adelman died in January of this year, but the PACs he and his wife suppoet live on.

Seth is a controversial figure, so I thought they were just ignoring what he said. I admit that sometimes I don't read Seth for weeks.
However, it really stuck with me and really bothered me and every few days I would check to see if anything was happening about this.
It was mentioned in previous articles about Steve Bannon, but nobody really paid much attention to the Willard Hotel conferences, despite that the guilty parties didn't really hide it.
Finally, attention is being paid.

(21,408 posts)the guy who wrote out the coup step by step, why hasn't he been disbarred yet for starters? He has formed another company and is continuing to push the big lie and the insurrection. Why can't the FBI take some of his time away from planning the next insurrection?

(8,200 posts)The major issue for me is will those who actually engineered the insurrection be held accountable. It seems to me that we have an ton of information, yet to date little accountability. I don't mean to be critical, but our system's determination to protect the innocent can be misused to escape any punitive action. This is especially true for those with deep pockets. It results in an uneven application of law and punishment.

(10,212 posts)They weren't running a war. They were planning to overthrow US democracy and put in King Trump instead.
It's more like a den of traitors then a war room. But that said they do meet all the requirements for levying war against the United States.
I think there is enough evidence to indicate that Trump and his fellow insurrectionists were levying war against the United States.
"There are two ways to commit treason: levying war against the government or providing aid or comfort to the enemy.
Levying War
Levying war isn't limited to formally declaring war. It includes any forcible opposition to the execution of a public law. Such "forcible opposition" ordinarily requires actual use of force by multiple people with the common purpose of preventing some law from being enforced. Weapons aren't always required; sheer numbers can be enough.
Merely conspiring to overthrow the government isn't levying warthere must be an actual assemblage of people who are ready and intend to use force. So, no person acting alone can be guilty of levying war."
https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/treason.htm
The link further outlines the requirements for levying war and this combined with the attack meet all the requirements for Treason. This is out and out Treason.
