1. That would be wonderful. Problem is, that closed information system is protected.

It cannot be shut down by the government because of Free Speech. We can't shut it down because we do not participate in it so we are not consumers who have power to bankrupt the companies that advertise or the billionaires who fund the project.

Any good ideas how we make them face facts when they can go their entire lives without have to watch CNN, MSNBC, CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS, or listen to anything by their right wing talking points?

They literally live in a world where they believe Trump is still or should still be president, where Joe Biden is a radical leftist. Jordan Klepper from the Daily Show interviewed some guy who thinks that the Q-Anon Shaman was a left wing plant who was also present during the evacuation of Afghanistan and that the plane shown on the runway with the guy hanging off, was actually a fake, inflatable plane. We are talking about the "night zone" of media, no facts get through or have to get through...ever!

2. The "deplorable press" would have to cover Trumputin's trial.

To avoid the putrid propaganda and disinformation generated by FoxBreitfartOANoisEtc, such as has shaped, filled and poisoned the “minds” of millions, I suggest Trump and Friends publicly answer charges of insurrection, sedition, corruption and dealing with the enemy in prime time, live wall-to-wall coverage of federal and state trials. Networks, cable, print and social media would cover it — SHOW — the entire country what the facts are and who the guilty are. Neighbors, citizens and the partisans can share thoughts before the Tiny Tuckers of the world can do their spin.

3. I know of people whose television NEVER strays from Fox. Their radio never strays from...

The local or syndicated right wing whack job. A frequent DU poster often talks about the 15,000 or so AM radio stations that blasted out Limbaugh, who now blast out the latest right wing crazy.

Unless there is a way to disable the broadcast of right wing propaganda, there will always be people who will not see the "Trump Trial" or who will see snippets of it designed to make Trump look like a victim and his opponents look like villains.

You do understand that in North Korea, there are people who believe that the "dear leader" actually shot a hole in one on every hole, that he is some kind of god... Now that is state sanctioned media control. Here in the US, the problem is that because of "free enterprise", rich people have bought up a lot of the media and are able to broadcast whatever crazy crap they want and there is an audience for it.

Tucker Carlson is considered by some, to be the only honest voice in "news".

4. The pivotal battle is for those with functioning critical faculties.

Many if not most who inhabit a polluted information environment may be irredeemable. We still should try for their mind space. The most effective way is to tell the best story and control the narrative.
