... at Safeway today.
A fucking grocery store. Oh, they had qualified people and all, and I AM grateful, but it made me think about a magical world where we had a national health service like the rest of the civilized world, and we got our shots with no muss, no fuss, and from a large number of locations. All without involving grocery stores and drug stores. A magical world where anti-vaxxers, anti-maskers, and other assorted whackjobs were relegated to the fringe of society, and ostracized for their bone-headedness.
A guy can dream...

(153,292 posts)Grocery stores and pharmacies are very convenient, after all.
And it was very easy.
Maybe someday we'll be like all the grown-up countries and have a national health service that we can be proud of.

(6,509 posts)They had only Moderna today, my first two were Pfizer. The pharmacist offered to give me an appointment on Monday, which turns out is their Pfizer day. But I have a farm and I had lined up already a helper for tomorrow. Both the first and second dose had me unable to walk for days with headaches, etc. BUT what relief to not worry!!!
Anyway, so I just decided to trust the CDCs decision that it is ok to mix and match. Who knows, maybe I wont get as sick with a different subtype. But of course, it might be worse! At least I have help tomorrow and if need be I can stay in bed and all my animals will be fed.
I join you with your wish.

It's like when they set up voter registration drives in grocery stores. The convenience means more people are reached.
