In general, while I like the sentiment of this post I think it's fundamentally pointless. The people who are the most vocal will say you're attacking them for their faith (as a side bar, that might be true if you said their religious sect.) The people you might be able to persuade will either be confused or think that perhaps you are attacking them for their faith.

Saying they shouldn't be allowed to get married actually works. If their going to get divorced they're in areas that Christ really did condemn. If they're going to commit adultery their in areas that Paul condemned. If they're going to sin anyhow just have at and stop pretending that the know God's will.

Evangelical: Seven thousand years old.

Me: How old is the universe?

Evangelical: We aren't sure, maybe seven thousand years old, maybe forever.

Me: How long has God been around?

Evangelical: Oh, well, God has been around forever.

Me: So, how can we human earth creatues be THAT important if God has been around for all time and we've only been around for seven thousand years?! How special are we? What was God doing with all of his free time?

This isn't how Evangelicals talk to gay people. They don't talk TO gay people; they talk to each other ABOUT gay people. There is no "inter-faith dialogue".
