OP
A stretch too far. He truly is an idiot. He may know events, but he does't get history.

(1,900 posts)1. IIRC, Hebdo was lampooning a long dead religious figure,
as contrasted to Gosar actually threatening a still living colleague. I believe that's the
takeaway.

Anyone, anywhere is perfectly within their rights to call out the Charlie Hebdo cartoons as offensive and to condemn them. Likewise, anyone can condemn Hustler magazine as misogynistic trash. That's not the same as going after people with guns.
By the same token, we don't expect Congressional representatives to be engaged in the publication of offensive religious stereotypes or pornography. No one is shooting up his office or calling for his death, but these precious snowflakes don't seem to understand that they are not immune to criticism or censure for their behavior in office.

The colleagues call him out part. Democrats have called him out and Adam Kinzinger called him out, but the Minority Leader of the House has said nothing to my knowledge. As far as I am concerned his GQP colleagues are complicit.

Clearly the man cannot tell trimming a hangnail from amputation at the elbow, since both remove some flesh from an extremity....
Differences in degree frequently amount to a difference in kind.
