Is it possible that a dirty dozen are shaping up for future bipartisan votes?

These R's voted with Democrats twice across three votes in both houses --
1. the electoral vote confirmation (17);
2. contempt of congress for Bannon (9),
3. the infrastructure spending bill (17).

I've got my hopes pinned on the Build Back Better Act, the For The People Act, or the John Lewis Act.

Think they'd budge? We'd just need two to make up for SineMa(nchin).

Richard Burr, NC 1,2
Bill Cassidy, LA 1,3
Liz Cheney, WY 1,2

Susan Collins, ME 1,3
Anthony Gonzalez, OH 1,2
Jaime Herrera-Beutler, WA 1,2

John Katko, NY 1,2
Adam Kinzinger, IL 1,2
Peter Meijer, MI 1,2

Lisa Murkowski, AK 1,3
Mitt Romney, UT 1,3
Fred Upton, MI 1,2

11. Then there might be a couple votes. Not enough to overcome a filibuster.

You're right
I think Joe Manchin said he persuaded one on the Voting Rights bill.

10. That is not your hypothesis, your hypothesis implies we can get them for ALL future votes

The votes you used to create the list are a BIPARTISAN infrastructure vote that even Mitch McConnell voted for and two votes that relate to January 6th.

The votes you then speak of are for bills, like BBB, that really are bills that Democrats have supported and Republicans have rejected. Seriously, very conservative Liz Cheney and Adam Kinziger are not going to vote for a bill like BBB. There has already been a procedural vote in the Senate on the John Lewis bill -- and on the Republican side only Murkowski voted for it.

Not to mention, we need more than 12, split between two Houses. We need 10 in the Senate for anything that would be filibustered.

2. Seems doubtful any R's will cross over and vote for it...

Hope springs eternal, I guess, but these are the types of programs that traditional repubs (like Manchin ) would not support anyway.

dontcha think? When it comes to 'social engineering' they really can't think outside of their libertarian/reagonomics bubble.

8. I get it. But then, how to explain the repeat votes of the three groups above? There's got to be

something there, no? Do they fear their constituents? Or is it that they really want to represent sometimes?

I think we might not have enough to predict yet, based only on these three votes, but they've pissed Trump off, and that means that they're not just randos.

but to find a repub or two who will vote to the left of Manchin seems unlikely to me.
