The Rittenhouse verdict scares the shit out of me.

To me it signals that this country is going to get a whole lot scarier. It also makes me ashamed of my race (white) and I'm scared at what Verdict will be in the racist trio that killed Mr. Arbey case.

to certify ANY election they lose, buckle up cuz that is when the actual war will have to start.

What choice will there be when they simply wont acknowledge the outcome of an election?

It’s time to embrace the 2nd amendment as they have and arm ourselves. I know many of us already have done so. I will not be a victim of the radical right.

a very biased judge, a clumsy prosecutor, confusingly-drafted statutes and a chaotic fact situation. It was an unjust verdict, of course, but it does not mean that it is now legal for people everywhere in the US to take guns to protests and shoot protesters. Some people might assume it does, but unless they are able to find as bad a judge and as incompetent a prosecutor as in this case, they might be in for a big surprise.

I think that a lot of people are seeing this with their emotions rather than looking at it based on how the situation actually went down from start to finish.

Is he guilty. Definitely, but our system is based on the presumption of innocence and the prosecution's burden to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime was committed. Based on, as you said, the crazy ass judge (should be reviewed), the poor prosecution case, and the laws as they are currently written, a conviction was going to be difficult at best.

He was not exonerated, he was found not guilty. Same way everyone knows OJ almost certainly killed his ex and the boyfriend, but the case was botched so badly by LAPD and the prosecution, that he was found not guilty.

Yet...here we are...our fears were just validated. Now....we can point fingers and critique this until the cows come home....What we must do is unite, find real leadership and an action plan to stop this National Terrorist Threat.....

Make the country scarier? Sure.

Make me ashamed of my (white) race? It sure does.

Scared of the verdict in the Aubery trial? Not me. I'm confident that those murderers are going to feel the full force of justice.

I just hope we rein it in before they successfully declare self-defense to justify going on a rampage in a school.
