This is important to remember, this is a stepping stone for him. He can’t get re-elected. Once these 4 years are finished he could go the lobbyist/consultant route that a lot of ExGovs take ($$$) OR he could run for Senate. He has to be careful. He’d have to get the GOP nomination (several litmus tests there) AND be able to appeal across the state in a general election. If he’s not extreme enough he could fail the first step. If he’s too extreme he could dissolve his chances statewide.
