In this case they are not burner phones, they are boner phones.
Its like they took a highlighter and marked the conversation for the prosecutor: pay special attention, exceptional consciousness of guilt.

(7,403 posts)What I want to know is who had the 3rd burner phone. Might it have been Trump himself? And on another matter, was Trump on a burner phone as his kids met with the Russians in the Trump Tower meeting in 2016? There was an unknown phone number that Jr. called from that meeting. Indeed, how widespread was the use of burner phones by Trump and his people for the last 5 years? You can bet it was not a one time deal.

(6,624 posts)... was that they can't be tied to an individual. You buy a TracFone and a pre-paid minutes card with cash, activate it, and off you go. Sure the data is there, but who is to say whose data it is?

Straw Man
(6,624 posts)... how do you tie a phone to an individual if it was purchased with cash and activated anonymously? All the geolocation can tell you is where the phone was -- not who was using it.

(6,624 posts)The speakers would have to be stupid enough to identify themselves or each other by name. Yes, that's a possibility.

(5,770 posts).... What I can read of the article (paywall) says that "according to sources" burner phones were used. You don't need telephone records if you have "sources". And burner phones can't protect you from them.
