I thought that when president Biden appointed 3 members of the Postal Board of Governors that the Board was going to shit can DeJoy.
Well it appears that the 3 new members are still not enough to get the board to fire his ass. Are we just supposed to move on and live with DeJoy, or does president Biden need to fire some members of the board for neglect of duty. It's not as if DeJoy has been doing a stellar job at the Post Office. He was or is under investigation by the FBI for doling out business to companies that benefit himself. He has slowed the mail. WTF, fire some more Board members until we get enough who have the guts to do the right thing.
Stuff like this pisses me off. DeJoy was supposed to be gone by now but instead we just let this get swept under the rug.
Hey, I may be way off base here but the fact of the matter is there has been no recent news about DeJoy leaving his position.

(21,333 posts)I read an article that I have provided the link to that stated that president Biden had to act before Oct. 1st to prevent DeJoy measures from becoming permanent. I am reading different opinions on that but according to the article I read 2 members could have been replaced months ago. The article I read may be wrong but here is what I read;

(21,333 posts)I was misled by a couple of articles that I should have researched further. I love president Biden, I believe he will end up being our most progressive and effective president since FDR. I voted for Joe in the 2008 primary mainly because our labor union endorsed Joe.
I was set off by a comment that DeJoy made to Congress when he said you are stuck with me. I was under the impression that the new board was still not going to fire DeJoy.

(11,011 posts)I tend to get frustrated at these sort of questions because they also disingenuously come from people looking to backhanded bash the President/administration.

(10,429 posts)with a misleading title. Biden named the replacements, but they haven't taken over yet. The title, by being worded "Biden replaces..." made it sound like it had already happened, when he actually had just made the announcement of who the replacements would be.
They don't take over until December.
Still, I think there should have been more effort to be rid of DeJoy. He's destroying the Postal Service. The firing process is more difficult to be rid of him, but it would have been worth it and needed to be done.

(21,333 posts)but the article I posted a link for claims that Bloom's term expired in 2020.
"Trump-appointed Democrat Ron Bloom is a vocal DeJoy supporter who has said the 10 year plan has his fingerprints all over it, and he has backed DeJoys leadership explicitly. Since he was appointed to serve out the remainder of a term ending in 2020, he is currently in a holdover year meaning that President Biden can easily nominate a new forward-looking governor at any point."

(13,569 posts)He, a Trump appointee and loyal to DeJoy (he said he's "tickled pink" at DeJoy's performance) is currently serving a "HOLDOVER" term of one year. Up Dec. 8. He previously was serving the remainder of a term that was vacated by someone else. So this HOLDOVER YEAR is his second term and the law specifies that a member may not serve more than two terms.
He is so cozy with DeJoy that DeJoy invested $300,000 in his financial investment company!
Either or both of them could have been removed "FOR CAUSE" (corruption) but that has not happened.
When Bloom is gone, Biden will fill that seat as well. And then the majority of the board will be Dem-appointed.
So yes, help is on the way unless Biden grants Bloom another HOLDOVER term.
I'd like to know this. Why isn't there a postal carrier or clerk on the Board of Governors? Why are they all fat cats and senior executives of this and that?

(21,333 posts)My article failed to mention that Bloom was eligible to serve 2 years.
