7 days: Trump's COVID trail; he exposed 500 people

From the day he tested positive until his hospitalization, Trump came in contact with more than 500 people, either those in proximity to him or at crowded events, not including rallygoers, according to a Washington Post analysis of the president’s interactions during that period.

That seven-day window reveals a president and chief of staff who took a reckless, and potentially dangerous, approach to handling the coronavirus, including Trump’s own positive test.

Trump and Meadows hid Trump’s positive test not just from the public, but also from his inner circle and from his top public health officials. He took part in a debate with Democratic rival Joe Biden three days later, never revealing the test result to Biden or event organizers.

And Trump took no extra precautions, such as mask-wearing or social distancing, to protect those he came in contact with in the days following the positive test.

By the end of October, more than two dozen people in Trump’s orbit would test positive for the coronavirus.

It's a long article and well worth reading. Even the excerpt gives some info that shows what a complete sociopath TFG is.

Two sources familiar with the matter characterized Trump's initial test on Sept. 26 as a "false positive" because of the subsequent negative test. One source said that the negative test came just hours after the positive one and that Trump tested negative again on Sept. 30, a day after the debate.

Instead of doing another rapid antigen test on what may or may not have been the same sample (not clear from reporting), he should have immediately isolated and taken the more accurate PCR test. Given two rapid antigen tests with conflicting results, what kind of logic would dictate dismissing the first one as a false positive vs. the second one as a false negative?

the first test was actually a PCR/more accurate test. He relied on the subpar test as PROOF. From Michael Mina, a very influential epidemiologist/immunologist:

My daughter was tested (both rapid and PCR) for school. The Rapid came back positive, the PCR negative. While the PCR is considered more indicative of a true test, her school and the NYC Department of health required her to quarantine until she was able to have TWO FOLLOW UP PCR tests on subsequent days. (starting two days after those initial tests).

Both those tests came back negative. She had to quarantine for four days in all.

You know what i DID not do?

I didn't take her around other people, unmasked. I didn't bring her to school. I didn't bring her to her ballet class. I didn't tell my in-laws to come for dinner that weekend (as they were supposed to) bc she had a negative test.

I followed guidelines even though I was pretty sure she was negative BECAUSE IF THERE WAS A CHANCE THAT SHE WASN"T AND GOT OTHER PEOPLE SICK, I would have felt responsible.

Trump is completely unable to think of other people.

Plus, he was feeling and looking unwell. Meadows wrote that too!

He knew he was sick and most likely had Covid and was doing all he could to power through it like it was no big deal. Until it was a big deal and he was afraid he was going to die.

He's a coward. A cynical slob. A self-interested narcissistic monster.

he was completely fucked up, physically, at the debate, and they (Dr. Ronny?) had him jacked up with steroids, just to get him through it. That worked out really well for Team Trump.

https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/01/politics/trump-covid-positive-test-timeline/index.html

Less than 72 hours later, he was getting "life-flighted" to Walter Reed, as the actual hospital in his residence was deemed insufficient to handle his medical needs at that point.

I was FURIOUS. Literally back to feeling the way I did a year ago about Trump. It was almost like time travel.

The most selfish human I've ever seen in my life.

Knowing that so many of us work so hard to protect the people around us, to try to prevent spread of this disease... and there he is hiding from everyone. He's just a selfish piece of shit.

has no effect on winning the election in 2022 or 2024. What about things like the BBB bill how many times are the goal posts going to be moved back? What ever happened to Trump's tax forms? What ever happened to the NY investigations into Trump's tax fraud? After 10 months we are still waiting for sonething meaningful coming out of the Jan 6th committee. What about voting rights? Democrats worry about the filibuster well if nothing is done about voting rights now there won't be a next time. Seems like DC is preoccupied with what the latest insult that comes out of MTG is, it won't amount to a hill of beans in 2022.

these clowns couldn't (or wouldn't) even protect themselves. Even in the early days when PPE and testing was in very short supply, this band of morons had access to all the PPE and testing necessary to keep themselves safe, but they still couldn't manage it. Trump not only endangered the country with his dereliction of duties as President of the United States, but he personally endangered a lot of people with his delusional narcissism.
